The Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University (BBAU), Lucknow, will, from the new academic session, offer its students the chance to obtain multiple degrees in some of the courses, Vice-Chancellor Dr R C Sobti said today. “Students, from the next session, can obtain dual degrees by meeting the minimum credits required for both,” Sobti said.
MBA, for example, has largely the same syllabus for the first and second semesters of five of its programmes in Tourism, Media Business Management, Executive Management, Human Resource Management and Marketing Management being offered by the university. A student, therefore, can easily cover syllabi of two subjects in the first year, focus on one branch in the second year, obtain the required credits, and then proceed to the third year to focus entirely on a new branch and obtain the credits for that branch.
“This way, in three years, a student will have two degrees. This will not only brighten a student’s prospects, but also save a year,” Sobti said.
The fee will be charged according to the semesters taken, which is Rs 75,000 per semester for all the MBA programmes with each having 30 seats.
