Now, the students applying for the MBA course at Allahabad University will have to go through Combined Admission Test (CAT) from next year.
The Academic Council (AC) of the Allahabad University has decided to admit students to the MBA course of the university through CAT from next session.
Nowadays, MBA is being offered at Motilal Nehru institute of business administration (MONIRBA) and MBA (rural management) is being offered by Govind Ballabh Pant Social Science Institute (GBPSSI). AU authorities usually conduct their own entrance test for both the courses. However, from next year, entrance will be based on CAT scores.
According to news reports, the members also agreed to admit students to the MBA (rural development) programme offered by GBPSSI through separate all-India entrance test.
“I will be talking to director of Institute of Rural Management Anand (IRMA) and later other institutions like Xavier Institutes and KIIT University, Bhubaneswar before deciding on the best option for us,” commented GBPSSI director Pradeep Bhargava.
The council also decided that for admission under sports quota, the varsity would carry out the exercise according to the rules and guidelines of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU).
