MBA Programm detail
The GSB Masters in Business Administration (MBA) is the only MBA programme in Africa listed in the Financial Times Top 100 Global MBA ranking.
The programme is transformative. It pushes students to their limits and empowers them to reach their best, personally and professionally.
The curriculum is international in scope and standard but with a distinctive orientation to the (South) African context. It has a strong practical emphasis and in addition to addressing the functional areas of business, new streams of learning around communication, leadership and entrepreneurship keep it at the cutting edge of professional development.
The GSB MBA is one of the toughest and most challenging of its kind. The full-time course is compressed into 11 months while the modular version runs over two years.
Both programmes are structured around 13 compulsory core courses designed to address the fundamentals of management.
Students can then tailor their studies by selecting additional courses from a selection of 15 electives.
All Open Academic Programmes at the GSB offer electronic access to all study materials via our web based student portal, E-Books through the GSB library and a virtual textbook library. Students will be informed about the technical requirements through the Admissions department once accepted onto the programme.
The UCT MBA offers excellent value for money. It is priced fairly by South African standards, yet is ranked as one of the top programmes in the country. By international standards, the price is extremely competitive given the immense cost of an MBA programme in the US or Europe and the relative value of currencies. The UCT GSB MBA was rated as the ‘Best value for Money’ in the Financial Times Full Time MBA Global Top 100 ranking.
